100Films.co.uk is home to the film and TV reviews of Mr Richard Nelson esq. (aka badblokebob). Since 2007, he has written over 2,500 reviews of feature films and short films, which are archived here. Richard has also served as Copy Editor for FilmBath Festival since 2019, and in that time has provided copy editing and/or technical support to several other film festivals, including AMPLIFY! and Women Over 50 Film Festival.

From 2007 to 2021, this site was known as 100 Films in a Year (tagline: “12 months. 100 films. Hopefully.”) Beginning as a personal challenge on the author’s DeviantArt journal, before quickly evolving into a dedicated website, the goal was simple: to watch more films. As time went on, watching 100 films a year become less of a challenge and more the status quo, and so in 2022 the site was relaunched as 100Films.co.uk, including a wholly revised “100 Films in a Year Challenge”. You can follow his progress with the challenge on its tracker page, or in monthly progress reports.

You can also follow 100 Films on Twitter, Letterboxd, and Instagram, and subscribe to new posts via email or through your WordPress account at the top right of this page. Comments, suggestions, corrections, and all other such forms of communication are welcomed too.

  1. I like what I’ve seen of the site so far. I also Set yearly goals of watching movies and it was refreshing to see I’m not alone. I just started watching 120 that are released each year.

    • I haven’t done a blogathon for a while, now I think about it, but I am still open to participating! Thanks for the invitation, but unfortunately I’m away in December so won’t be able to take part.
