You may remember Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey, when he looked like this:

Then he starred in The Guest, where he looks like this:
Phwoar.
And this week saw the release of the first images from his new role, as the titular chap in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, where he looks like this:
Phurry.
As if by design (but more likely by coincidence), the UK TV premiere of The Guest is tonight at 9pm on Film4. It was one of my favourite films I saw last year, so I heartily recommend it. Indeed, here’s a link to my full ★★★★★ review:

Ooh, to both of you thanks for the heads up on The Guest. I had seen the poster and somehow passed it over – the “overview” on IMDB just didn’t sound too interesting. You’ve got me keen to watch it now! Will definitely give it a go.

I’ve just started watching it and ten minutes in am very nervous…I’m just a little scared…I have no idea what to expect…will keep you both posted…I’m not usually a chicken like this but somehow I think this is going to be one hell of a ride…

I get what you mean about how it looks on IMDb, etc — I can’t even remember what first compelled me to watch it, because I thought it was going to be OK at best. But I absolutely loved it.

Well, to be honest, I usually don’t “listen” to IMDB but the little blurb somehow didn’t appeal. I know this is shallow but yep…was one of those moments. I can’t wait now…love discovering new movies. Especially the non-popular ones.

Oh yeah, the not-popular-but-great movies are the best to find. My top 10 of last year was about 50% that kind of thing!

He is veeery nice, well, obviously looks-wise… Going to take some serious mindset adjustment when I watch him in Beauty and the Beast. Just like I needed to get out of Prince Charming of Cinderella mode when watching other roles of Richard Madden.
